WDCGA competitions can be classified into the following five categories:

1.   Team Match Competition – Interclub competition played at the start of the season. Each club fields a team/s of 6 players and competes against other club teams of similar aggregate handicap.  
2. Class Cup Tournaments – Monthly stroke play competition that gives members an opportunity to play at member clubs and compete against players of similar ability. 
3. Junior Girl's Golf Program -This program is open to girls who have net yet reached their 18^th birthday. Listed in this section is the Futures Cup, a mixer, which offers members an opportunity to compete with juniors. 
4. Added Fee Tournaments – Popular events that offer a variety of venues, formats, and team or individual play. 
5.  Invitational Tournaments – These events are invitation only and include the President's Cup which is our chance to thank our many volunteers.

The following are the General Tournament Eligibility Requrements for the WDCGA.

For requirements of specific tournaments, please go to the Tournament Schedule and click on the specific tournament.

Regular Members

A woman golfer who:

•           is at least 18 years of age.
•           is a member in good standing of a WDCGA member club.
•           belongs to a recognized women’s golf association at that club
•           has a handicap index within the specified WDCGA limits
•           has at least 20 scores (active season) posted in the preceding 12 months.
•           the WDCGA follows the USGA gender policy.

Associate Members

•          May play in Class D tournaments if the field is not oversubscribed.
•           May play in any undersubscribed tournament(s) for which they are eligible.
•           Must play to the WDCGA specified maximum handicap index.
•           May compete for the cup and/or prizes.
•           Afforded last priority in oversubscribed tournaments.

Honorary Members:

•          Honorary members whose handicaps are over the specified limit for a tournament may play under the parameters of Associate members.

Online registration is available for those events that have no entry fee.

Mail-in registration is availbable for all tournaments.

Late Entries

Eligible players who miss the registration deadline may contact the appropriate tournament chair to be placed on a wait list.

A new member who misses the registration deadline (during her first month) may contact the appropriate tournament chair to be placed at the top of the wait list.

Really want to play? Feel free to show up and hang around the day of the event. We often (regretably) have last-minute cancellations. Even better, let the tournament chair know of your intentions ahead of time. No guarentees, of course.

If you are cancelling before the entry deadline, simply email  the Tournament Chair to notify her.

If the tournament entry deadline has passed, please attempt to talk with the Tournament Chair in person as soon as you know.

If you have to cancel the morning of the event and cannot reach the Tournament Chair, please contact the host club to let them know.

By the way, we understand that things come up. But, don't forget that our Tournament Chairs are all volunteers with big jobs. One person pulling out at the last minute causes a ripple effect you wouldn't believe!

Most Added-fee tournaments do include cart fees. However, the two championship tournaments (senior & regular) do not.

WDCGA events are held as scheduled unless the host course is closed.

Check the WDCGA home page for up-to-the-minute cancellation notices.

If there is no notice posted, and you have reason to believe the host club is closed, call the host club to find out. (please check our web site first).

Once a new date has been determined, The tournament chair will contact you to confirm your interest in playing in the event.

Oversubscribed Tournaments

When the field is oversubscribed, eligibility is determined by draw as follows:

• The defending cup winner is automatically exempt when eligible.
• WDCGA volunteers will not be drawn out.
• Eligible members of the host club, whose handicap indexes are within the current WDCGA limit, will not be drawn out.
• All other players with handicap indexes higher than the current WDCGA limit will be the first eliminated .
• No applicant whose handicap index is within the current limits shall be drawn out of more than one WDCGA tournament in any one year, if possible.

Use the Tee Times & Pairings link (located on the site menu) to find you tee times. Tee times are normally posted about two days prior to the event.

For 2-shotgun tournments, the precise times are posted  when the Tee Times & Pairings go up - about two days prior to the event.

Morning shotguns are usually between 7:30-8:30 and afternoon shotguns are between 12:30 - 2:00.

Ahhh, we thought you'd never ask! We have all sorts of ways you can help:

• Work a shift as a marshall, spotter, or registration person.
• Run an errand before or after the tournament (pick up a trophy, etc)
• Or even sign up to be a Tournament Chair for one of next year's events.

Dress Code of WDCGA - All attire (including shoes) must conform to the host club's dress code. In addition, blue denim jeans, short shorts, cut-offs, gym-shorts, sweat  pants, tank tops, tee shirts, and swimwear are prohibited.

Caddies - Host clubs will provide caddies and/or golf carts. Participants are not permitted to bring caddies from another source unless otherwise authorized by the Committee.

Penalty: Disqualification
