About our Tournament

Ann Heuer, WDCGA Past President from 1977-1978, began the Tournament of Champions in 1979 in honor of her father, Charles F. Lynch. Mr. Lynch, Ann’s first golf instructor, imparted his love of the game to her. She recalls that her father was a superb golfer. He regularly played in USGA Senior Amateur, and maintained a single digit handicap even as he grew older. The Charles F. Lynch Memorial Trophy permanently resides at Congressional Country Club, Ann’s member club.

This is a one-day stroke play tournament. The following current season winners are eligible:

• Winners of all WDCGA Tournaments
• Net and Gross winners of Added-Fee Tournaments
• Team Match Competition Division winners (regular team members – no subs)
• Winners of each flight in the WDCGA Championship and the Championship flight finalist
• Senior Championship winner and the Super Senior winner
• Club Champions and Senior Club Champions of WDCGA member clubs (must be members of the WDCGA)
• Past WDCGA Championship winners (must be members of the WDCGA)
• Defending Tournament of Champions winner

There is no actual invitation sent for this event.
